In recent years, the IOC revamped its process for adding sports to the Games, eliminating the seven-year wait period. This led to the inclusion of sports like surfing, sport climbing, and skateboarding in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, all of which will continue at the Paris Games with the addition of breakdancing.

To engage younger audiences, many events will be held in central outdoor venues in Paris, like La Concorde, with exciting visual backdrops. Additionally, the IOC signed a 12-year deal with Saudi Arabia to stage esports Olympic Games, targeting the younger generation's interest.
