Karnataka Unveils Cyber Security Policy 2024 to Combat Rising Cyber Threats
The Karnataka Government has launched a comprehensive Cyber Security Policy 2024 to counter increasing cybercrimes. The initiative aims to enhance awareness, skill-building, public-private partnerships, and technological integration to safeguard the state's digital infrastructure. The five-year policy is funded with Rs 103.87 crore from the Department of IT and Biotechnology.
The Karnataka Government on Thursday launched a comprehensive Cyber Security Policy 2024 aimed at combating rising cybercrimes and enhancing the state's digital security framework.
This new policy focuses on key areas such as awareness and education, skill-building, promotion of industry and startups, and public-private partnerships for capacity building, according to officials.
The policy, backed by a financial outlay of Rs 103.87 crore over five years, will allocate Rs 23.74 crore for incentives and concessions, including stipends for interns and grants for R&D projects. In collaboration with CISCO, it will also train 40,000 individuals in cybersecurity skills, with a focus on inclusivity.
