Mid-Range Smartphones Dominate Indian Market: Infinix CEO
Infinix India CEO Anish Kapoor highlights that smartphones priced between Rs 10,000 and Rs 20,000 now dominate over 40% of the Indian market. Demand for 5G-enabled handsets has driven this shift from the previously popular sub-Rs 10,000 segment. Kapoor attributes this trend to consumer preference for upgraded features.
The domination of mobile phones priced between Rs 10,000 and Rs 20,000 in India's smartphone market is evident, as they constitute over 40% of the total market size, Infinix India CEO Anish Kapoor revealed.
According to Kapoor, the demand for 5G-enabled handsets has surged in recent times, making these mid-range devices more popular than sub-Rs 10,000 models that previously held the majority market share.
He noted a market revival after two years of stagnation, driven by consumer preference for advanced features and the latest technology. Infinix has responded to this trend by focusing on creating affordable yet premium products, particularly for key markets like Uttar Pradesh.
