Union Minister Pralhad Joshi Initiates Cutting-Edge EV Testing Facility in Bengaluru

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi laid the foundation stone for a new Electric Vehicle (EV) testing facility at the National Test House in Bengaluru. The state-of-the-art facility will conduct comprehensive tests on various aspects of EV batteries, supporting southern India's EV manufacturers and enhancing the EV ecosystem in India.

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi will on Thursday lay the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art Electric Vehicle (EV) testing facility at the National Test House (NTH) in Bengaluru.

This advanced facility will be equipped to conduct various critical tests on EV batteries, including electrical safety, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), functional safety, durability, climate, and mechanical and material evaluations. An official statement described the initiative as a comprehensive centre for testing diverse aspects of EVs, ensuring they meet stringent quality standards before reaching consumers—a significant boost for southern India's EV manufacturers.

The National Test House, under the Department of Consumer Affairs, is a premier scientific organization renowned for its testing and quality assurance services across various domains such as the Jal Jeevan Mission, Bullet Train project, Metro projects, and drone certification.
