Play at the U.S. Open was briefly interrupted on Tuesday when a fire alarm sounded in the technical booth responsible for operating the Hawkeye electronic line-calling system.

During the incident, television footage captured officials exiting the video replay room. At the time, Daniil Medvedev, leading Nuno Borges 6-0 6-1 1-2 at Arthur Ashe Stadium, was asked by the chair umpire to approach him for an explanation before both players paused their game.

The interruption also affected the women's match between Caroline Wozniacki and Beatriz Haddad Maia at Louis Armstrong Stadium, which was stopped for six minutes before play recommenced.
