Google Chrome Introduces 'Instant Unsubscribe' to Streamline Notifications

Google Chrome's new update allows users to manage notifications with an 'Instant Unsubscribe' feature. Initially available on Pixel devices, it will soon extend to other Android phones. Additional updates include an enhanced Safety Check and one-time use permissions to improve user control and web security.

Google Chrome is unveiling a feature designed to help users manage their notifications more effectively. Dubbed 'Instant Unsubscribe,' this option within notifications lets users quickly opt out of site notifications without navigating through settings, reports GSM Arena.

Currently, the feature is available on Google Pixel devices but will soon extend to other Android smartphones. Users will see an 'Unsubscribe' button directly within the notification.

By tapping this option, users can immediately stop notifications from that site. For those worried about accidentally opting out, Chrome includes an 'Undo' function to reverse the action. GSM Arena notes that the update enhances Chrome's Safety Check, which will now run background checks for deceptive practices, revoking notification permissions for misleading sites. Additional updates include notifying users about revoked permissions and flagging unwanted notifications. Users can also grant camera or microphone permissions on a one-time basis, with permissions revoked upon leaving the site, boosting both control and security. (ANI)
