Montra Electric Inaugurates Cutting-Edge e-SCV Manufacturing Facility

Montra Electric, part of Murugappa Group's TI Clean Mobility, inaugurated a new plant in Ponneri to produce electric small and light commercial vehicles. The facility, with a capacity of 50,000 units, aims to support India's goal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2070 through sustainable transportation solutions.

In a significant boost to sustainable transportation, Montra Electric, a division of TIVOLT Electric Vehicles Pvt Ltd, on Wednesday unveiled a new manufacturing facility near the city. This facility, dedicated to electric small and light commercial vehicles, marks a pivotal step in India's green mobility quest.

The new manufacturing plant, located in Ponneri, spans an extensive 5 lakh sq ft and is equipped to produce 50,000 units annually. Montra Electric, part of the Chennai-based Murugappa Group's TI Clean Mobility Pvt Ltd, offers a wide range of electric vehicles, including heavy and small commercial options, tractors, and three-wheelers.

As Arun Murugappan, Executive Chairman of Tube Investments of India Ltd, officiated the plant's inauguration, the company reiterated its dedication to leading the charge in sustainable logistics and contributing to India's ambition of net-zero carbon footprints by 2070. The facility will manufacture the 'EVIATOR,' an e-SCV with advanced features and an impressive range, underlining Montra Electric's commitment to superior performance and innovation.
