India is poised for a significant leap in its space endeavors, with the government giving the green light for the production of more than 60 LVM-3 rockets. This ambitious initiative, aimed at launching heavy satellites, will unfold over the next decade with substantial involvement from the private sector.

Speaking at the Bharat Space Conclave, INSPACe Chairman Pawan Kumar Goenka highlighted that this venture will channel approximately Rs 25,000 crore into the private sector, breathing new life into India's nascent space industry. The initiative will be complemented by the launch of a 52-satellite constellation dedicated to earth observation, primarily for defense purposes.

Furthermore, the government plans to utilize the comprehensive surveillance capabilities of these satellites, bringing another Rs 25,000 crore of business opportunities to private players. These efforts mark a pivotal shift, with entities like ISRO transferring technology rights for Small Satellite Launch Vehicles (SSLVs) to selected private companies.
