IIT Madras has intensified its collaboration with Applied Materials India to spearhead advancements in semiconductor research. The partnership, which officials confirmed on Thursday, focuses on leveraging the AppliedTwin platform to enhance semiconductor manufacturing processes.
This initiative coincides with IIT Madras's plans, in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu government, to establish a semiconductor fabrication facility. The deployment of AppliedTwin's sophisticated software will significantly reduce research and development costs while preparing an industry-ready workforce.
The collaboration not only strengthens the academic-industry link but also supports India's ambition to become a global leader in semiconductor production. The enhanced digital twin technologies will provide future engineers at IIT Madras with tools to delve deeply into advanced semiconductor technologies.
