The Delhi government is undertaking a major upgrade of the local area network (LAN) and Wi-Fi infrastructure at the Secretariat building to establish a contemporary digital environment, authorities announced on Saturday.
The existing LAN, over ten years old, often malfunctions, affecting productivity. It requires modernization to keep up with technological advancements and enhance internet connectivity.
The Information and Technology department is spearheading this revamp to provide a robust communication network, supporting e-governance and internal collaboration. This upgrade will facilitate seamless connectivity, especially for high-bandwidth tasks like video conferencing, ultimately boosting departmental efficiency.
