Sagar Defence Engineering Pvt Ltd has officially launched a cutting-edge manufacturing plant in Pune, aimed at producing Uncrewed Surface Vehicles (USVs). This milestone marks a significant advancement in the company's collaboration with Liquid Robotics, a Boeing subsidiary.

Announced earlier this year, the partnership is committed to the co-development and production of advanced maritime systems, including the renowned Wave Glider platform. The new Pune-based facility is set to elevate undersea domain awareness through local production and aims to expand the manufacturing capacity for unmanned maritime systems throughout the Indo-Pacific region.

Nikunj Parashar, Founder of Sagar Defence Engineering, highlighted the plant's significant role in the 'Make in India' initiative by fostering local advanced maritime capabilities. Salil Gupte, President of Boeing India, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the plant's impact on the US-India Major Defence Partnership. Meanwhile, Shane Goodenough, CEO of Liquid Robotics, underscored the critical nature of this development for enhancing global and local maritime technologies.
