Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Jitin Prasada, highlighted a six-fold increase in electronic goods production to Rs 11.3 lakh crore in 2024-25, up from Rs 1.9 lakh crore in 2014-15. The government has initiated comprehensive strategies to foster an electronic manufacturing ecosystem, including semiconductor production.
Mobile phone production soared 28 times in value to Rs 5.5 lakh crore, bolstered by several initiatives. The government's PLI scheme offers incentives for hardware production, while other programs like SPECS and ECMS aim to make India a global electronics manufacturing powerhouse.
