Bishop Carlos Garcia Camader announced Pope Leo's anticipated visit to Peru, expected to occur in November or early December, would attract significant interest. The visit marks a return for Leo, known during his decades-long mission in the region.

Garcia declared during a press conference in Lima that the probability of this visit stands at 80%, following a meeting with the Pope at the Vatican. Leo, once U.S. Cardinal Robert Prevost, was influential in Peru's Catholic community, particularly as a bishop in Chiclayo where he became a Peruvian citizen in 2015.

The bishop lightheartedly stated that while there is an 80% chance of Leo visiting Peru, the chance of him stopping in Chiclayo is absolute. Last week, Peruvian bishops were in Rome for Vatican meetings, which included an unexpected private lunch with Pope Leo himself.
