The convergence of connectivity and compute is set to revolutionize interactions between citizens, enterprises, and governments in India. According to Shyam Prabhakar Mardikar, CTO Mobility at Reliance Jio, artificial intelligence (AI) is poised to further strengthen India's digital public infrastructure.
Speaking at the AI Impact Summit, Mardikar emphasized that India is nearly a decade ahead of several developed economies in building extensive digital platforms, encompassing digital payments, online banking, Aadhaar-based identity systems, and paperless air travel. He described India's digital infrastructure as a remarkable success story.
Mardikar suggested that introducing AI to these platforms could significantly extend government reach and enhance decision-making and service delivery.
