India is taking significant steps to rally global leaders towards a consensus on the ethical utilizations of Artificial Intelligence (AI), aiming to balance benefits with potential harms. Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw detailed these initiatives, highlighting the importance of using AI for humanity's advantage.

The minister outlined a strategic plan involving investments worth USD 200 billion across five layers of the AI stack. This plan aims to encourage the growth of deeptech startups, predicting the emergence of 50 such companies in the near future.

The Indian government is also advancing technologically by ordering 20,000 additional GPUs, to be deployed within six months. This commitment is part of the broader India AI Mission, designed to ensure the accessibility of technology to a vast population base, thereby supporting startups, researchers, and students.
