Uttar Pradesh's 'Project Ganga' Brings High-Speed Broadband to 20 Lakh Households

The Uttar Pradesh government has taken a significant step towards enhancing its digital infrastructure by signing an agreement with OneOTT Intertainment Ltd, a subsidiary of the Hinduja Group. The initiative, dubbed 'Project Ganga', is set to deliver high-speed broadband to more than 20 lakh households across the state.
Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna emphasized the project's dual focus on technological advancement and job creation. The drive aims to both boost the state's digital capability and offer substantial employment, particularly for the youth and women, through the training of local digital service providers.
Chief Executive Officer of the State Transformation Commission, Manoj Kumar Singh, highlighted the critical nature of digital infrastructure in societal growth. He noted that the project's outreach to remote and rural areas would facilitate new economic prospects, including telemedicine, e-commerce, and online education, addressing the digital divide in underserved regions.
