Apple is reportedly working on two new features, 'Undo' and 'Redo', designed to enhance Home Screen customization for the upcoming iOS 27 update. As reported by MacRumours, these additions aim to streamline layout management by enabling users to swiftly reverse or reapply changes without the hassle of manually adjusting icons and widgets.
Currently, a long press on the Home Screen reveals a bubble with options like 'Add Widget', 'Customize', 'Edit Wallpaper', and 'Edit Pages'. According to a source speaking to MacRumours, Apple plans to incorporate 'undo' and 'redo' buttons within this menu, further simplifying the process of making and undoing changes. The iOS 27 update is expected to include other enhancements, such as a dedicated Siri app and improvements to Apple Intelligence features.
This update could mirror the priorities of Mac OS X Snow Leopard, focusing more on performance optimizations and stability rather than major design overhauls, as suggested by MacRumours. Apple is gearing up to begin beta testing of iOS 27 in June, with a public launch anticipated in September, adhering to its annual release schedule.
