The Bharat Soka Gakkai held its fifth Sustainability Conclave in New Delhi, emphasizing collective action for climate change and sustainable communities. With contributions from experts, the event highlighted sustainability as a shared, actionable mindset and showcased successful community-led initiatives driving climate resilience and sustainable development.
The fifth Sustainability Conclave organized by Bharat Soka Gakkai (BSG) brought together leaders in New Delhi to discuss the crucial role of communities in tackling climate change. Under the theme 'Building Resilient Futures: Climate, Communities, and Collective Strength,' the event highlighted both the challenges and potential solutions for achieving sustainability.
BSG Chairperson Vishesh Gupta emphasized that sustainability should be a collective effort, stating, "We don't need a handful of people doing sustainability perfectly, but millions committed to it together." Joining him in the discussion, Veditha Reddy, Director of Education & Sports, urged that achieving sustainability requires a shift in mindset and collaboration among policymakers, implementers, and citizens.
The event featured a panel discussion with eminent speakers such as Justice Michael D. Wilson and environmentalist Vimlendu Jha, who stressed the urgency of climate action. The conclave also showcased grassroots initiatives that inspire others to adopt sustainable practices. With a focus on building resilience, BSG continues to work towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and encourage community involvement.
