Karnataka is set to develop data parks across key cities, including Bengaluru, Mysuru, and Mangaluru, as part of its drive to promote sustainable industrial growth. The decision emerged from a strategic meeting attended by influential state ministers.
An ambitious data centre park with a 500 MW capacity is planned near Hoskote, Bengaluru, drawing solar energy from Pavagada. The Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board assured the supply of 60 million litres of secondary treated water, while industries will handle tertiary treatment.
In Mangaluru, the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board has earmarked 350 acres in the Baikampady Industrial Area for a similar initiative. Mysuru will also see suitable land allocations for data parks, promising power and water availability for potential investors. Ministers have called for early preparatory actions and investor engagements to expedite the projects.
