Ambassador Kwatra meets Indian delegation to SelectUSA Investment Summit
Indias Ambassador to the US Vinay Mohan Kwatra has lauded an Indian business delegation for their role in achieving goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047 through greater investment in tech and manufacturing space. Delighted to speak with the Indian Business and Startup Delegation participating in the SelectUSA Summit, Kwatra said in a post on X on Wednesday after the meeting.
India's Ambassador to the US Vinay Mohan Kwatra has lauded an Indian business delegation for their role in achieving goal of 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047 through greater investment in tech and manufacturing space. Kwatra's comments came when he met here the Indian business delegation that announced investments to the tune of USD 1.1 billion in the US that will create nearly 2,500 direct jobs in America. The Indian business delegation, including representatives of 12 firms that announced investments in the US, was here to participate in the SelectUSA Investment Summit at National Harbour in Maryland near here. ''Delighted to speak with the Indian Business and Startup Delegation participating in the #SelectUSA Summit,'' Kwatra said in a post on X on Wednesday after the meeting. ''Underscored their role in achieving India's goal of #ViksitBharat by 2047 through greater investment in our tech and manufacturing space and positioning India as a reliable node in the global supply chain,'' Kwatra said. The USD 1.1 billion investments announced by Indian companies are in addition to the USD 19.1 billion investments in the US anchored by Sun Pharmaceutical's planned USD 11.75 billion acquisition of New Jersey-based Organon & Co. Earlier, Kwatra met with the IIT-Madras Global delegation comprising founders of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M) incubated deep-tech start-ups and had ''an insightful conversation'' with Thirumalai Madhavnarayan, Head of IIT-M Global, and the brilliant founders of five IIT Madras-incubated deep-tech startups on the sidelines of the SelectUSA Summit. Kwatra said in a post on X that he was truly inspired by the work showcased by the young tech leaders – Atri AI, Zerowatt, Satori XR, Greenvironment, and @ePlaneCompany. ''We spoke about exciting new opportunities in India and the US tech ecosystem. The future of India-US innovation collaboration is bright,'' Kwatra said.
