Hotayi Electronics to invest Rs 700 cr to boost semiconductor, manufacturing ecosystem in Gujarat

Hotayi Electronics, Malaysias leading electronics manufacturing services company, will invest Rs 700 crore at Sanand in Ahmedabad, with Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi handing over offer-cum-allotment letter to the firm on Thursday. Under the project, Hotayi Electronics will invest approximately Rs 700 crore over the next 10 years, with five hectares of land allotted to it at Sanand-II GIDC for the facility, it added.

Hotayi Electronics, Malaysia's leading electronics manufacturing services company, will invest Rs 700 crore at Sanand in Ahmedabad, with Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi handing over offer-cum-allotment letter to the firm on Thursday. The investment will further strengthen Gujarat's semiconductor and electronics manufacturing ecosystem, the state government said in a statement. Under the project, Hotayi Electronics will invest approximately Rs 700 crore over the next 10 years, with five hectares of land allotted to it at Sanand-II GIDC for the facility, it added. ''The plant will manufacture advanced DRAM memory modules, solid-state drives (SSDs), server and data centre memory modules, as well as automotive electronics, including LED lighting and infotainment modules. Hotayi Electronics is a key supply chain partner of the global semiconductor giant Micron,'' it added. Speaking on the occasion, Sanghavi said this investment will further strengthen Gujarat's semiconductor and electronics manufacturing ecosystem. ''Adoption of smart manufacturing and AI-driven automation technologies will drive technological advancement at the local level while generating large-scale employment opportunities. ''Gujarat is emerging as the first-choice destination for global technology companies due to its robust infrastructure and industry-friendly policies. The investment by Hotayi will also provide new momentum to the 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' and 'Make in India' initiatives,'' he added. Sanand has emerged as a major Indian semiconductor hub, with Micron and Kaynes Semicon having recently commenced production at their units. Both facilities were inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
