Sunil, alias Shetty, was apprehended following a shootout on Wednesday night near a DDA park in the Pul Prahladpur area. Authorities acted on intelligence reports to detain Sunil, who was linked to a robbery and attempted culpable homicide case.
Upon interception by law enforcement, Sunil allegedly initiated an exchange of gunfire, resulting in a retaliatory shot by police striking his leg. An established figure in the criminal underworld since 1999, Sunil is known for his violent past, as noted by his connection to the Govindpuri police station.
Law enforcement recovered a country-made pistol and a stolen mobile phone from Sunil, who has a history of involvement in 16 criminal cases with convictions in seven instances. The arrest mark a significant blow against crime in the region, highlighting ongoing efforts to maintain public safety.
