Transforming IT: The Surge in AI Job Growth
The IT industry in India is undergoing a transformation with a 15-20% increase in demand for AI-related jobs. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw encourages industry collaboration to harness technological growth. Significant investments in data centres and subsea cable networks are enhancing India's digital infrastructure.
India's IT industry is on the cusp of a transformative phase with a substantial rise in AI-related job opportunities, projected to grow by 15-20% annually, according to Union Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
Speaking at the CII Annual Business Summit, Vaishnaw urged industry stakeholders to join forces with Nasscom to equip the workforce with essential skills for emerging technology trends. He emphasized the government's role in fostering a conducive investment environment by eliminating taxes on data centres until 2047.
The nation is also set to bolster its digital infrastructure with plans for three expansive subsea cable networks, in addition to HP commencing AI server production in India. Vaishnaw has called upon tech giants like Google to follow suit, highlighting substantial investments expecting to reach USD 200 billion in the data centre sector.
