Karnataka State Police Data Center earns ISO/IEC 27001 certification

In recognition of its professional excellence, the Karnataka State Police Data Center has now been awarded the internationally recognised ISO/IEC 27001 Certification for Information Security Management Systems.
This certification signifies that the department's information technology infrastructure, cyber security practices, data protection mechanisms,.
and information management processes comply with globally accepted information security standards, officials said.
According to a police statement, the Data Center is professionally managed by a team of highly technically skilled officers and staff of the department.
The Center securely hosts and manages several critical digital policing platforms and services, including Crime Records, Police IT systems, CCTNS (Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems), ICJS (Inter-Operable Criminal Justice System), AFIS (Automated Fingerprint Identification System), Cyber Crime Information Systems, KSP Mobile App, M CCTNS Mobile App, Smart e-Beat, and other citizen-centric digital services, it stated.
''By obtaining the ISO/IEC 27001 certification, the Karnataka State Police Department has further strengthened its capability to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and seamless availability of sensitive information and critical digital infrastructure.''.
The police department further said that the certification will significantly enhance information security and cyber resilience, protection against cyber threats and unauthorised access, security and privacy of citizens' information, transparency and accountability in data management.
