As a growing number of Chinese companies express keen interest in Ethiopia’s technology and innovation-oriented sectors, the Ethiopian government has vowed to provide ‘all the necessary support’ to potential Chinese investors.
Jemal Beker, Ethiopia’s Deputy Minister of Innovation and Technology, affirmed the government’s strong commitment to supporting potential Chinese investors to engage in the country’s investment landscape during a recent discussion with representatives of a high-level delegation from Chinese shoe manufacturer Huajian Group.
Huajian, which had been operating in the East African country for close to eight years, is one of the leading foreign companies that have been investing in Ethiopia's export-oriented manufacturing sector.
Beker added that the Ethiopian government will provide all necessary support to Chinese companies particularly in the technology and innovation sectors. He further called on Chinese companies to strengthen their engagements in building the technical and practical capacity of young Ethiopians across the country, as reported by Xinhua.
