French chef Joel Robuchon died on Monday at his home in Geneva at the age of 73.

Robuchon owned and operated luxury restaurants on three continents and some had three Michelin-star rating restaurants. The three stars mean that the meals at this restaurant are exceptional.

The famous culinary guide (Joe Ai Mio) was named Robuchon in 1990 as the "Century Chef". The late French chef is known for his perfection in his work and even for dishes that look as ordinary as the mashed potatoes in the most delicious.

He began opening restaurants in the 1980s and early 1990s to become one of Paris' most famous chefs.

"The older I get, the more I realize the truth: the simpler the food is, the better ... I have never tried to mix more than three flavors in one dish," he said in an interview with Business Insider in 2014.

"When you prepare food for yourself," he said, "it's a normal person ... prepare things as simple as possible ... steaks with french fries ... a delicious dish and a French as I like eggs. Eggs (omelet) and the authorities ".

He has restaurants in cities including Paris, Monaco, Hong Kong, Las Vegas, Tokyo, and Bangkok. French newspaper Le Figaro reported that Robochon died of cancer.
