Kabuli gram, other pulses slip on low demand

Pulses: Prices of select pulses led by kabuli gram and gram dropped by up to Rs 300 per quintal at the pulses wholesale market during the week amid muted demand from dal mills and retailers against ample stocks position on improved supplies from growing regions.
Marketmen said sufficient stocks position in the market following increased supplies from producing belts against sluggish demand from dal mills and retailers, exerted pressure on kabuli gram and other pulses prices.
In the national capital, kabuli gram small variety suffered the most by plunging Rs 300 to Rs 4,700-5,500 per quintal. Gram followed suit and eased to Rs 4,000-4,100 against its last closing of Rs 4,150-4,300 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality shed Rs 200 each to Rs 4,200-4,600 and Rs 4,600-4,700 per quintal, respectively.
Masoor small and bold also slipped to Rs 3,700-3,950 and Rs 3,750-40,50 from previous levels of Rs 3,750-4,050 and Rs 3,800-4,100 per quintal, respectively. Its dal local and best shed Rs 100 each to Rs 4,200-4,600 and Rs 4,300-4,700 per quintal, respectively.
Rajmah chitra, too, weakened by Rs 50 to Rs 6,100-8,300 per quintal.
Meanwhile, arhar and its dal dara variety moved down in a narrow range in limited deals and pegged at previous levels of Rs 3,700 and Rs 5,000-6,900 per quintal, respectively.
