Maritime security firm Dryad Global said the vessel involved was the MV HELIOS RAY, a vehicle carrier en route to Singapore from Dammam in Saudi Arabia. "Investigations are ongoing. Vessel and crew are safe," the UKMTO's advisory notice said. The incident happened at 2040 GMT, it said. The UKMTO did not give details on the cause of the explosion.
