Steel prices remain quiet in thin trade

Lethargic conditions persisted at the local steel market in the national capital Saturday with prices moving in a narrow range in the absence of buying support and settled at previous levels.

Traders said the absence of worthwhile activity from construction units mainly kept steel prices unchanged.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per tonne):

Saria Kamdhenu: 8-mm Rs 50,000, 10-mm Rs 49,100, 12-mm Rs 47,300, 16-25 mm Rs 47,300.
