5 killed as car rams into pedestrians in HP's Dharampur

Five pedestrians were killed and four others injured after a car ran over them in Himachal Pradesh's Solan district on Tuesday, police said.

The accident occurred near Dharampur on the Shimla-Chandigarh highway around 9:20 am when they were going for work, according to police. Guddu Yadav, Raja Verma, Nishad, Moti Lal Yadav and Sunny were killed in the accident, while Mahesh, Babudeen, Mahesh and Arjun have been hospitalised, they said.

The car's driver Rajesh has been detained and investigations are underway, police said.
