Speeding Car Kills Two, Injures Three in Kolhapur

Two people died and three others were injured after a speeding car driven by 72-year-old Vasant Chavan collided with two-wheelers at a traffic intersection in Kolhapur. Chavan also died, seemingly from a heart attack. The exact cause of his death will be confirmed by a post-mortem report.

In a tragic incident in Maharashtra's Kolhapur city, two individuals lost their lives, and three others were injured when a speeding car collided with two-wheelers at a traffic intersection on Monday afternoon. The car, driven by 72-year-old Vasant Chavan, reportedly lost control around 2.15 pm at Rajarampuri.

Chavan, a retired Kolhapur University employee, also succumbed to injuries, with preliminary reports suggesting he suffered a heart attack prior to the crash. CCTV footage captured Chavan’s white car ramming into motorcycles before halting. The impact forcefully flung the deceased motorcyclists into the air.

Currently, the injured are receiving treatment at different hospitals. Authorities await the post-mortem report to determine Chavan's precise cause of death.
