Tragedy Strikes Surat: Driver Dozes Off, Claims Three Lives

In Surat, a tragic accident occurred when a car lost control and rammed into people sitting by the roadside, killing three family members and injuring four others. The driver dozed off and mistakenly accelerated instead of braking.

In a heart-wrenching incident in Surat, three family members lost their lives after a car veered off the outer ring road and ploughed into a group sitting by the roadside late Friday night. Among the deceased were an eight-year-old boy, his father, and uncle, according to local authorities.

The tragic accident, which took place around 11:30 pm, was reportedly caused by the driver, Yagnesh Gohil, who had dozed off at the wheel. Awakening suddenly, Gohil mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake, leading to the fatal crash. The impact also injured four other victims, one of whom remains in critical condition.

Authorities informed that the car, coming from Ahmedabad, also damaged two parked two-wheelers. Gohil has since been arrested as investigations continue into the deadly mishap.
