Karnal Set to Soar: Plans Unveiled for New Domestic Airport

Haryana's Civil Aviation Minister Kamal Gupta announced that Karnal will become a hub for domestic air travel. The Karnal aerodrome is set to be upgraded into a full-fledged domestic airport. Surveys are being conducted, and possible locations are being explored under the Regional Connectivity Scheme.

In a significant development for Haryana, Civil Aviation Minister Kamal Gupta has revealed plans to position Karnal as a central hub for domestic air travel in the coming months.

Gupta announced that the Karnal aerodrome is slated for an upgrade to a fully operational domestic airport, a move set to boost convenience for residents and drive regional growth.

During a detailed discussion with officers from various departments, Gupta emphasized the need for expedited implementation. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar are fully committed to this transformative project.

The aerodrome underwent a thorough inspection, with officials tasked to resolve any hurdles. Significant facilities such as the workshop and runway were examined to ensure readiness for the upgrade.

Surveys are being carried out at various airstrips, including Ambala, Pinjore, Narnaul, and Bhiwani, under the Regional Connectivity Scheme, aiming to evaluate and develop feasible locations for domestic airports.
