Goa Launches Scheme to Help Sick Industrial Units Exit State

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant introduced the Goa Industrial Development Corporation Exit Support Scheme to help sick industrial units leave the state. The scheme, effective for a year, aims to repurpose 423 unused industrial plots, attracting new investments and creating job opportunities.

In a significant move to invigorate the state's industrial sector, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday unveiled the Goa Industrial Development Corporation Exit Support Scheme. The initiative aims at assisting sick industrial units in their exit from the state, freeing up valuable land resources.

The launch event, attended by state Industries Minister Mauvin Godinho and GIDC chairman Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, marked the beginning of a year-long scheme intended to repurpose 423 plots of non-functional units spread across 12,75,000 square metres. These plots have been dormant for an extended period.

Chief Minister Sawant emphasized the importance of making these plots available for new and existing industries. He stated that the initiative is poised to attract fresh investment, stimulate industrial growth, and generate new employment opportunities in the state.
