HDFC Bank announced on Sunday that it has trained approximately 3.25 lakh youths over the last ten years, focusing on high-demand sectors such as IT/ITeS, healthcare, and manufacturing. This effort is part of the bank's corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative called Parivartan.
The chief focus of the Parivartan programme is skill development and livelihood enhancement. With World Youth Skills Day set for July 15, the bank revealed that it is actively involved in over 100 skill development projects across various states and sectors including IT/ITeS, retail, healthcare, manufacturing, and agriculture.
Since 2014, Parivartan's youth training programmes have sought to address gaps in equipping young people with essential skills and knowledge, offering certifications through the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and other accredited agencies. These initiatives aim to prepare youth for successful careers and entrepreneurial ventures.
HDFC Bank Head of CSR, Nusrat Pathan, stated, 'Our Parivartan training programmes are designed to provide vocational skills linked with market demands while also instilling confidence and ambition in young minds.' The bank's collaboration with various partners focuses on sectors with high growth potential, striving to create a robust and inclusive future workforce.
