Delhi's Traffic Advisory Issued for Muharram Tazia Processions

The Delhi Police issued a traffic advisory for Tazia processions on Muharram. Motorists are advised to use metro services for uninterrupted travel, and plan routes avoiding congested areas.

The Delhi Police issued a critical traffic advisory on Monday, ahead of the Tazia processions commemorating Muharram on Tuesday and Wednesday.

According to the advisory, processions will commence at 9 pm on Tuesday from Chhatta Shahzad, Kalan Mahal, and pass through Kamra Bangash, Chitli Qabar, Churi Walan, Matia Mahal, Jama Masjid, Chawri Bazar, and Hauz Qazi, before retracing their routes. Similar routes are designated for processions from Old Police Chowki, involving critical zones like Ashok Basti, Qutub Road, Khari Baoli, Lal Kuan, and others.

Significant disruptions to city bus services and traffic flow are anticipated, particularly on major roads like Desh Bandhu Gupta Road, Mathura Road, and routes leading to key areas such as New Delhi railway station, Connaught Place, and Central Secretariat. The advisory highly recommends the use of metro services and proactive route planning to avoid congestion.
