Despite this, Colombian Civil Aeronautics reassured that air traffic control remains unaffected. The cyber incident impacted multiple services worldwide including banking and healthcare.
Latam Airlines in Colombia announced on Friday that a global cyber outage may cause flight delays. The airline advised travelers to verify their flight statuses.
However, Colombian Civil Aeronautics clarified on X that air traffic control operations in Colombia were not impacted by the global cyber issue.
The outage, triggered by a software update, caused widespread disruptions, grounding flights, affecting broadcasters, and disrupting services in sectors such as banking and healthcare globally.
