Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday laid out the Union Budget 2024-25, highlighting nine critical priorities to stimulate economic growth and stability.
The outlined priorities encompass productivity, job creation, social justice, urban development, energy security, infrastructure improvements, innovation, and reforms.
In her seventh consecutive budget presentation, Sitharaman emphasized the government's commitment to extensive research for the development of climate-resilient seeds.
She announced a plan to engage one crore farmers in natural farming over the next two years, along with promoting large-scale vegetable production clusters to enhance output.
The government will introduce 109 high-yielding, climate-resilient seed varieties for 32 different field and horticulture crops.
Sitharaman also mentioned that the implementation of several schemes announced in the interim budget in February continues to be in progress.
