Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman unveiled plans to establish working women hostels to enhance female participation in the workforce during her Budget presentation in the Lok Sabha. The initiative aligns with the interim budget's emphasis on supporting the poor, women, youth, and farmers.

According to Sitharaman, the government will collaborate with industries to set up these hostels and creches, enabling women to focus on their careers without worrying about childcare.

The partnership aims to offer women-specific skill training programs and promote market access for Self-Help Group (SHG) enterprises run by women.
