Chief Minister M K Stalin has urged traders in Tamil Nadu to voluntarily display their shop names in Tamil language, during a session with the Tamil Nadu Traders Welfare Board on Tuesday.
Stalin highlighted that the board, established in 1989 by the late Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, is running effectively. Meeting attendees included representatives like A M Vikramaraja, who promised to take steps to install nameboards in Tamil across shops in the state.
Emphasizing voluntary compliance, Stalin said it’s crucial that the Tamil language is prominently visible on streets. Additionally, he detailed financial aid initiatives by the board and noted that the total trader registrations have reached 88,219.
