Suspension of Maitree Express Train Services Amid Bangladesh Protests
The Maitree Express train services between Kolkata and Dhaka have been suspended till Wednesday due to violent protests in Bangladesh over a government job quota system. The Bandhan Express services between Kolkata and Khulna were also cancelled. The protests have resulted in over 100 deaths.

The Maitree Express, which connects Kolkata with Bangladesh's capital, Dhaka, will remain suspended until Wednesday. This follows communication from Bangladeshi authorities, as confirmed by Eastern Railway.
Bangladesh has been engulfed by violent protests over a government job quota system, leading to over 100 casualties so far.
An official from Eastern Railway stated that services of the Kolkata-Dhaka-Kolkata Maitree Express, which have been suspended since Saturday, will continue to be cancelled until further notice. The train runs six days a week, with no operations on Sundays. Additionally, the bi-weekly Kolkata-Khulna-Kolkata Bandhan Express was also cancelled on Sunday.
