Indian Cement Sector Set for Surge with Transformative Budget

The government's strong emphasis on infrastructure through major projects and allocations will drive demand for cement and other building materials, according to the Cement Manufacturers' Association (CMA).
Describing the Budget as 'transformative and forward-looking,' with a focus on fiscal consolidation, infrastructure development, employment, and energy security, the CMA highlighted the Rs 11 lakh crore capital expenditure commitment as a significant booster for India's infrastructure modernization.
Neeraj Akhoury, CMA President and Managing Director of Shree Cement, stressed the Budget's strategic approach to bolstering India's infrastructure across various sectors. Parth Jindal, Vice President CMA and Managing Director of JSW Cement, noted the Budget's potential to foster inclusive growth through employment and skilling initiatives.
The Budget also includes a transition roadmap for industries to move towards the 'Indian Carbon Market' mode, aiming at improving energy infrastructure and promoting renewable energy adoption. Overall, the cement industry is set to play a pivotal role in the nation's development, according to CMA.
