Delhi's Ambitious Mohalla Bus Initiative: A Tech-Driven Solution for Last-Mile Connectivity

Leveraging advanced technologies like Big Data analytics and artificial intelligence, the Delhi government is working to finalize routes for its 'Mohalla Bus' initiative, aimed at tackling last-mile connectivity challenges.

Assistant Traffic Inspectors (ATIs) play a crucial role in identifying feasible routes for these nine-meter electric buses. According to an official statement released Thursday, 32 ATIs have been deployed in specific zones to assess operational challenges and gather public feedback.

The initiative, supported by IIT-Delhi’s expertise, focuses on using AI to design optimized routes that ensure maximum coverage and efficiency, thereby making public transport more accessible and sustainable. The government aims to deploy 2,180 such buses by 2025.
