Gujarat Pitches for State's Own NITI Aayog-Style Think Tank
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel proposed the establishment of the Gujarat State Institution for Transformation (GRIT) during the NITI Aayog meeting led by Prime Minister Modi. Patel outlined the state's ambitious roadmap towards becoming a USD 3.5 trillion economy by 2047 and stressed the importance of semiconductor and AI technologies.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Saturday proposed the creation of a Gujarat State Institution for Transformation (GRIT), modeled after the NITI Aayog, during the governing council meeting of the NITI Aayog chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This think-tank aims to drive the state's economic and social policies.
Patel unveiled the 'Gujarat@2047 Dynamic Document-Roadmap', which focuses on improving quality of life and economic prosperity under the pillars of 'Earning Well' and 'Living Well'. The roadmap aligns with the Prime Minister's vision of making India a developed nation by 2047. He emphasized the state's current contribution to the GDP and the goal to become a USD 3.5 trillion economy.
The chief minister also highlighted Gujarat's significant advancements in semiconductors, blockchain, and AI technologies and announced the installation of India's first semiconductor chip manufacturing plant. Patel stressed the importance of sustainable development, natural farming practices, and solar energy initiatives to achieve the state's ambitious targets.
