Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has praised the new Union Budget as inclusive, impactful, and innovative, emphasizing its focus on employment and manufacturing. The budget outlines nine priority themes.

At a press conference, Goyal highlighted Maharashtra's significant gains, including the largest industrial park among twelve proposed, to be established near Dighi Port in Raigad district. He also pointed to the major port at Vadhavan near Dahanu, previously approved by the Union Cabinet.

Goyal expressed confidence that Maharashtra, with its extensive cooperative societies, stands to benefit the most from the proposed National Cooperation Policy. The budget, aimed at achieving Vikshit Bharat, has recognized cooperative manufacturing and employment as critical areas.

Addressing the stock market's record levels, Goyal lauded the tax proposals, asserting they would benefit the majority. The budget emphasizes empowering MSMEs, increasing Mudra loan limits, and providing financial support for 50 multi-product food irradiation units and 100 NABL-accredited food quality testing labs.

Goyal underscored the government's commitment to infrastructure, allocating Rs. 11,11,000 crore for capital expenditure. This 3.4% GDP allocation, unprecedented in the past, is expected to have a multiplier effect on the economy.

The Union Budget, presented earlier in the week by the Finance Minister, focuses on driving economic growth through strategic investments and support for key sectors. (ANI)
