National Treasury, the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA), and the National Consumer Financial Education Committee (NCFEC) are inviting organisations and individuals to join the Money Smart Week South Africa (MSWSA) 2024 campaign. This year's campaign will take place from 26 August to 1 September 2024, featuring a range of consumer-focused financial education programs and activities.

The main goal of MSWSA is to create a collaborative national platform that mobilizes diverse stakeholders to educate and empower South Africans, enhancing financial literacy across the nation. Since its inception in 2018, MSWSA has reached numerous South Africans through various channels including mainstream media, community radio, exhibitions, television, social media, and face-to-face workshops.

Over the past six years, the initiative has seen significant growth, with stakeholder participation increasing from 48 in 2018 to 78 in 2023. This year, participation is open to a wide array of entities such as academic institutions, government departments, regulatory bodies, financial institutions, community groups, companies, NGOs, and public benefit organizations.

The week-long campaign will include free workshops, presentations, mall activations, exhibitions, and webinars. Organisations and individuals are encouraged to organize their own financial education events and initiatives during the campaign period.

To participate, interested parties must submit a registration application by 16 August 2024. The online registration process is now open, allowing participants to apply and contribute to this important financial literacy initiative.
