Bomb Scare Halts Somnath Express in Punjab

The Somnath Express was halted in Punjab's Ferozepur district after an anonymous call alleging a bomb on the train. Passengers were evacuated, and the area was cordoned off. Police bomb disposal squads and other security forces are conducting a thorough search.

The Somnath Express, en route from Jammu to Rajasthan, came to a sudden halt at Punjab's Ferozepur district following an anonymous bomb threat, officials confirmed.

Passengers were promptly evacuated at Kasu Begu railway station, located about 10 km from Ferozepur, according to Senior Superintendent of Police Saumya Mishra. The area has been secured.

Three bomb disposal teams, along with dog squads from Punjab Police and Border Security Force, are currently on-site. Additionally, Government Railway Police and Railway Protection Force have joined the search operations. An ambulance and fire brigade are on standby.
