Tata Motors has announced an 11% decline in total sales for July, with figures dropping to 71,996 units from 80,633 units in the same month last year. The company's domestic sales also fell by 11%, settling at 70,161 units compared to 78,844 in July 2023, according to a statement released on Thursday.
In the passenger vehicle segment, which includes electric vehicles, domestic sales declined by 6%, reaching 44,954 units from 47,689 units year-on-year. The decline is attributed to various market conditions and consumer behavior changes impacting overall demand.
Commercial vehicle sales experienced a significant drop of 18%, with figures down to 27,042 units as opposed to 32,944 units the previous year. The company is analyzing the market to understand the underlying factors affecting these sales numbers.
