GlaxoSmithKline Pharma Reports 37.87% Profit Surge in Q1

The company's consolidated revenue stood at Rs 814.65 crore, with noteworthy growth in key brands and vaccine segments. Total expenses were lower compared to the previous year.
GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd on Friday reported a significant 37.87 percent rise in consolidated net profit, reaching Rs 182.33 crore for the first quarter ending June 30, 2024.
The company had recorded a consolidated net profit of Rs 132.25 crore for the same quarter last fiscal year, according to its regulatory filing. Consolidated revenue from operations for the reviewed quarter stood at Rs 814.65 crore, compared to Rs 761.66 crore in the corresponding period of the last fiscal, marking a notable increase.
Operating expenses were lower at Rs 600.89 crore, down from Rs 634.42 crore a year ago. Key brands such as Calpol, Augmentin, and T-Bact gained market share, driving a 10 percent growth. The respiratory portfolio, including Nucala and Trelegy, saw a remarkable 57 percent growth, improving patient access. Furthermore, the paediatric vaccine segment maintained market leadership with a 15 percent growth, and the adult vaccines segment continues to expand with the Shingrix Herpes Zoster Vaccine.
