NCRTC Triumphs With Platinum Global Sustainability Award for RRTS Project

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) won the 14th Platinum Global Sustainability Award for its RRTS Project. Presented by the Energy and Environment Foundation, the award highlights NCRTC's commitment to environmental sustainability through innovative transit solutions in the National Capital Region. The project extensively uses renewable energy and ensures energy efficiency.

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has been bestowed with the prestigious 14th Platinum Global Sustainability Award-2024 for its RRTS Project. Presented by the Energy and Environment Foundation (EEF), the accolade was part of the 15th World Renewable Energy Technology Congress held in New Delhi on Friday. The event focused on themes of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable solutions for a green economy.

In a statement, NCRTC Managing Director Shalabh Goel expressed that the award signifies their dedication to positive environmental impacts through their unique RRTS project. The Namo Bharat trains, a pivotal part of the RRTS, enhance regional commutes in NCR with their eco-friendly and efficient operations.

The NCRTC has adopted extensive renewable energy practices including significant solar power deployment, aiming for IGBC certification for all RRTS infrastructure. Rainwater harvesting initiatives also form a key part of their sustainable strategy, aiming to recharge water resources through 900 collection pits along the RRTS corridor.
